Who’s sick of their fitness routine?
This is statistically the part of starting a fitness routine where you’re ready to throw in the towel. Maybe you slept in, maybe you got invited to happy hour & decided that you’d go to the gym after, but didn’t because, um, margaritas (true story!)… It’s all normal!
Totally normal. This is just the messy middle. That frustrating period of time when you can’t see the end goal to save your life and everything feels overwhelming.
Everything in life has a messy middle.
Everything.
In the beginning, working out and experimenting with new healthy recipes is fun. “We’re going to get a six pack and my a** is going to look amazing in my jeans and we can totally live on salads sprinkled with lemon juice and this will be so awesome!”
In the end, working out and eating well is REALLY fun! “Yawn, yeah… let’s get up at 4:30 am to do burpees and tire flips this tomorrow” (Okay, you’re not quite there yet, and maybe some day you’ll get there!)
Then there’s the messy middle.
The messy middle sucks. There’s no nice way to say it. You’re tired of trying and not seeing results, you’re frustrated, you feel overwhelmed and hopeless. It’s not a fun place to be.
You can’t see a future where things will get better. You want to give up.
Don’t.
I know how much right now sucks. But I also know what life will look like for you later. I know that the only way to get to that amazing “later” is by struggling through this part.
I never promised that this was easy. I don’t have a “transform your body in 3 weeks!” program because that’s impossible. That’s a marketing gimmick that will do nothing for you.
If you want to change, I’ll help you. But it’s going to take time. A LOT of time. And perseverance.
It also takes a great goal. I want you to be able to see what your working toward. Not just the end result, but the progress as you fight your way there every single day.
That’s what we’ll do in the Resolution Reboot Challenge.
Before we go there though, I need you understand something with absolute certainty.
I need you to know that how you feel right now is normal. The messy middle is a normal part of literally everything in your life from relationships, jobs, goals, and even businesses.
Ever read a book where everything worked out wonderfully by page 100? Me neither.
I know enough to know that if you burn the book in the middle of the story, you’ll never have a happy ending.
So how do you get through the messy middle?
Keep going.
That’s it. Some days will be better than others, some days will be horrific. Just keep going. Take it one day at a time, do the best you can and stay the course until you can see the other side.
It will happen.
In the meantime, join th Resolution Reboot. It starts on Sunday, February 5th.
