Design Your Life

Ditch Dieting Forever and Discover How to Design and Stick To a Sustainable Eating, Physical Activity and Health Strategy to Support Your Life

We know that  Diets Don't Work...

but it's scary to go out on your own, break the rules

listen to your body, and do what works best for YOU!

...I mean, how does that even work?!?

Health and nutrition advice is so incredibly confusing. There are SO MANY different techniques:
Intermittent Fasting, Counting Points, Low Fat, Keto, Counting Calories, and More.

Here’s a secret: All of these approaches work, but not all of them will work for YOU

When you create habits and skills that are sustainable, and discover the eating, physical activity, and self-care habits that are right for your body and lifestyle, weight loss and maintenance becomes simple (not fast!) and sustainable.

The habits and skills that you develop in this journey support a joyful life instead of adding stress and more obligation in to an already over-full schedule.

When you think about your life at age 70, no one wants to be logging her food, counting points, tracking calories burned, thinking about her weight, overeating, or beating herself up for eating ice cream with her grandchildren.

But if we don’t practice how to do that now, that’s exactly where we’re headed.

Can I help you paint a different picture?

  • You could learn how to be accountable to yourself so that you can follow through on the commitments that you make to yourself (examples: eating on plan, following through with your workouts)
  • You could feel good about yourself - not only physically through making better choices in your food and exercise habits, but also mentally being proud of yourself because you’re practicing self-care habits that work for you.
  • You could learn how to listen to your body so that you know exactly what foods and habits energize you, and which ones lead to increased cravings, decreased sleep, or the general eff-its that we get when things are ‘off’.
  • You could build a practice of discipline and consistency around your eating, sleeping, and physical activity habits to support reduced cravings, stable mood, increased energy,  .
  • You could learn how to ditch the all or nothing thinking because you know that life isn’t black and white, you know it doesn’t serve you, and so that

I'm Elizabeth

I know what it’s like to know all the things and yet still not do them. Here I was, a nutritionist and personal trainer, and yet I was chronically overeating and then over-exercising as a way to manage my weight, my lab results revealed that I was pre-diabetic, my inner critic was fierce, and I knew that what I was doing wasn’t sustainable.

Every week I would repeat the same Restrict/Binge/Regret cycle that left me frustrated with myself. Saying, “You know this stuff, Elizabeth! Why can’t you get your shiz together?!?”

I felt out of control.

I DID NOT want to be 65 years old and still logging my food, overeating, and feeling panicked if I skipped a workout or gained a lb. It was then that I had a talk with myself: Either I needed to learn how to eat and exercise for my body, or I needed to learn how to love the body I was in.

Because what I was doing wasn’t working.

Learning how to tune in to the subtle signals that my body was sending me to communicate whether what I was doing was right for me or not (versus following someone else’s rules) took an enormous leap of faith and I was scared that it wouldn’t work.

What happened as a result, is that I became friends with my body.

I learned how to give her what she needed in order to be happy and healthy (instead of fighting with her to be a specific size), and in turn, she became my ride-or-die.

No one teaches us this! The only thing diet books and exercise programs teach us is what we should eat, when, and how much.

AND most of that information is research performed on college-aged men!

As women exiting child-bearing years, our bodies are vastly different from a college aged man.

And so it has become my passion to help any woman who wants my help and expertise to break free of all of the myths and beliefs about food and our body that we learned as younger women that just don’t serve us anymore, and that quite frankly keep us stuck.

Together we’re going to ditch the diets, build self-trust, and create the right set of lifestyle habits that make you look great and feel like a million bucks!

These could be Your Successes

This is completely worth the financial and time commitment. If you put in the work, you will see results.

Weight has always been an issue for me. I have never felt comfortable in my body. I have struggled with weight since I was a teenager.

I tried every diet/exercise program out there and kept feeling like I failed. Elizabeth helped me to see there is no such thing as a failure.

We do the best we can each day with what we have and that's all that matters. She will meet you where you are and help you to meet whatever goals you have set for yourself.

I would 100% recommend Elizabeth for life/weight loss coaching. She is knowledgeable about healthy eating and exercise. I never felt overwhelmed or like it wasn't something I could do.

Not only am I more confident with how I look, but I have more confidence over all and am overall just happier and mentally healthier. I still have some goals I would like to reach, but I now have the tools and self-esteem to reach those goals. Amazing experience overall!

I had recently relocated to across the country to be with family and had lost my rhythm and gained a lot of weight. I felt stuck and had lost my momentum, I couldn't get my groove back no matter what I tried (and I tried a lot of things). I needed help to get back on a track of health and intentional living.

You have helped me fill up my tool box with ways to handle whatever comes my way. Ideas resources for ways to eat better, fall asleep, focus, feel better, have more energy, trust myself, not beat myself up, and of course lose weight too. I feel like I can keep my momentum going no matter what gets thrown at me now.

We worked together on ALL of me, not just one aspect. Food, activity, emotions, free time, work time, all of it. You helped me develop a plan that works specifically for me. Since it is a method that we developed around me and my lifestyle, I find it easy to follow and I am confident that I can continue with it for years to come.

My family has noticed my increased activity and healthier eating habits. After a while they started joining me too! I feel like I am firing on all cylinders again after wandering aimlessly for a couple of years trying to figure out how to be me in an older (but still strong ) body.

After years of yo-yo dieting, ‘perfection-or-nothing’ mentality, and feeling stuck in a never ending battle, I knew I needed some wise guidance to walk in freedom and health.

I am amazed at how often she ‘hit the nail on the head’ with wisdom and great ideas to help me work out or walk through a situation. As we are slugging through life-long issues that need to be released, I’m seeing victories in my body. Learning to do body scans, thought downloads, and paying attention to true physical hunger and fullness have been life-changing in these past months.

She challenges me to be the best version of myself without guilt, and another ‘to do’ list so I’m successful. You truly hear between the lines and I feel like she's walking along side, cheering me on. Every week she hears my words and what is behind them. Her wisdom and insight have brought truth to bear in each situation we discuss. I’m so grateful to have a totally safe place to be real on this journey to wholeness.

Focusing on the positive and implementing
even the small things in my relationship with food has freed me from the all or nothing attitude. Foods are not simply good or bad, but there are foods that are better for me. Small steps are better than no steps. I’m realizing that my relationship with food stems from deeper longtime issues . SO thankful that our conversations are bringing light to what needs to go and what needs to stay.

When you Sign Up for Design Your Life Coaching, you'll get:

  • Weekly Coaching: Each week, we’ll meet for 45 minutes to discuss any obstacles or barriers that came up during the week, and create a set of skills and habits to focus on for the following week.
  • Access Between Calls: Sometimes we need additional support. For this reason, you can reach out to ask me anything: Which menu item to order, if you’re struggling and need some words of encouragement, or to get clarification on something we covered in our session.
  • Call Recordings: There’s huge value of being able to review a coaching session! Sometimes our brains can’t take in the work because the brain is stressed. Watching a coaching call later, when our brain is relaxed, can allow us to absorb the coaching better because we’re not relying on our memory.

  • Worksheets and Journal Prompts: There are over 250 worksheets that you’ll have access to that cover all areas of our life: eating, and the scale, but also career, time management, boundaries, and relationships.
  • Optional Homework Assignments: Each week, you’ll receive homework - things to work on between sessions. Homework can range from focusing on building specific habits and skills, listening to a podcast episode, completing a worksheet, or journaling. The homework is optional, but designed to protect your investment & allow you to get the most out of.
  • A Full Workout & Exercise Library: You do not need to go to a gym or spend hours exercising if improved fitness is one of your goals. You’ll have access to over 100 balanced workouts designed to combine your strength and cardio requirements in a short 20-30 minute session. All workouts have written directions and video.
  • Healthy Recipe Index: You’ll get access to tons of healthy, easy to prepare recipes that are also tasty.

Real Results from Real Clients

You really helped me to understand boundaries, self-worth, and self-reflection. I don't think I realized how much I had neglected those parts of myself and instead was really just surviving day-to-day, drowning (escaping?) in work. Now I feel like a have a much more sustainable life-work balance and the time to focus on healthy habits. Plus the know-how to set boundaries with myself and others.

You got in my head in the best way! I find myself applying what I learned from you across situations. Talking to friends, work situations, all of a sudden the lessons I was learning from you about body scans and thought downloads, habits, self-soothing behaviors, they were everywhere! Being able to apply and share that knowledge (which for me is just making sure it's further ingrained) is amazing!

And the thought model... just the concept that feelings and thoughts CAN change and how helpful it is to reframe things. Thank you for re-explaining that to me enough times that it really sunk in!

I had an incredible experience with you and I'm so, so grateful to you for sharing your experience and knowledge, for your patience, and knowing that you'd be there to talk things through and troubleshoot with! Sometimes I would get anxiety before a session knowing it was going to be a "tough" one, but I always, always left the session feeling positive and having learned so many new things.

I wanted to develop a healthier relationship with food. I was working from home full time and my previous tactics of avoidance wasn't working anymore. I cleaned out my fridge, kitchen and pantry but still found myself making impulsive trips to the store to get " the forbidden foods." I wanted to stop the rumination on food and weight, guilt/shame associated with eating certain food and treats. To eat treats in moderation.

I developed a healthy relationship with food and even better my entire family developed a healthier relationship with food through my individual work with Elizabeth, I feel in control around food. I can eat whatever I want to eat and there are no forbidden foods. The negative ruminations and guilt associated with eating certain food is completely gone. It also translated to all aspects of my life. I quit completely any negative self-talk or judgements and developed more self-compassion. My mindset towards life is now that of curiosity or adventure rather than judgement when things don't go as planned.

Being in a peaceful place with food has also translated to more peaceful relationships with myself and others.

I stopped weighing myself after almost 3 decades of consistent weighing and it is so liberating!!

With my new freedom I am now able to focus on other areas of life and building my career and business.

"I'm being nicer to myself and
I really like myself now!"

But, Will Coaching Work for Me?

Look, I get it.

At this point, you, like most women in midlife, have done dozens of diets, spent thousands on supplements, diet pills, exercise programs and pre-packaged foods that promise overnight results only to be left poorer, and with another method that doesn’t work.

You know what you’re supposed to do. The thing is that you don’t do it.
This is why coaching with me is the right solution.

  • I will help you follow through on your commitments to yourself
  • I will help you build self-trust.
  • I will help you create and establish habits that support the life that you want to live
  • I will help create a better relationship with food
  • I will help you create a friendship with your body

These are things that diets, exercise programs, supplements, and Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig can’t do. They can tell you what to do, but working with a coach who is completely tuned in to your unique needs and how your body works will help you stop dieting forever.

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Elizabeth. She is smart, intuitive and amusing! She provided me with many useful insights and as well as a plethora of tools and resources. She helped me identify areas of self sabotage which stood in the way of me reaching my goals. As a result of working with her, I feel clearer, more grounded and better equipped to manage more areas of my life.

How Coaching with Elizabeth works:

  • I’m a personal trainer
  • I’m a nutritionist

  • I'm certified in womens metabolic health

  • I’m a habit based coach

  • I’m a skills based coach

  • I’m a life coach

I do call myself a habit-based coach. So what that means, is that we’ll focus much of our work on building sustainable habits that add up over time.

At the beginning of our work together, we’ll see where you are (what habits and skills you currently have), and then through creating a vision, we’ll figure out where you want to go.

Because every client is different in where they’re starting out and what goals they want to achieve, the client journey is a bit different for each person.

Once we know where you are and where you’re going, we can create a gap analysis that clearly defines the habits and skills that you need to build in order to achieve your goal.

Together, we are co-creators of your journey

Each week, we’ll meet, and together decide what skill or habit you will work on for the week. Habits and skills build upon themselves over the course of our time together.

When we meet the following week, you’ll report back on your success.

Depending on how it went, you may need help making environmental changes, systems or process adjustments, or we may have to look at the mental reasons behind the obstacles and do some coaching around why you weren’t successful.

Here's an Example:

Let’s say that you decide that you commit to drinking 40 oz of water daily. When we meet, I’ll ask you about how you did with that goal for the week.

You might answer, “I did great! In fact, I drank on average 45 oz daily.”

Fantastic! Great Job!

Or you might say something like, “Well, I drank 40 ounces on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but then Thursday I only got in 30. Same for Friday, and on Saturday & Sunday, I only drank maybe one bottle of water.”

Okay! Why did that happen?

  • Did you forget your water bottle?
  • Were you outside of your normal environment & water wasn’t available?
  • OR did you just not feel like drinking water?

For the first two scenarios, we can do some troubleshooting around future scenarios where this might exist.

And in the third, we get to do some coaching. Why didn’t you want to drink your water? What were the reasons behind it? And we ask these questions with non-judgmental curiosity.

Because when we judge our actions, we automatically block any learning that could potentially happen.

And the way that we move forward is through learning why something happened, and then changing so that it doesn’t happen again.

Why Six-Months?

In a world of quick fixes, fad diets, and “lose 30 lbs in 30 days”, we set expectations for ourselves that weight loss should be fast. And when our body doesn't respond like it's 'supposed to', that just leads to us wanting to give up - because how could we possibly make up for it?

"I'm not going to get to goal now... why even try? I may as well just give up."

It feels defeating.

AND it also puts a lot of pressure on our body to respond & lose weight! Its disappointing and frustrating when either the diet doesn’t work for us or that it isn’t sustainable.

Many have asked, Why is it six months? Or think that 6 months is too long.

But what I've learned from working with over 100 women is that 6 months is about the amount of time that it takes us to unlearn all of the diet-myths we’ve learned over the years; unlearn all of the un-useful diet-mentality that we’ve absorbed from living in a world where it seems that physical appearance is the only thing that's valuable about us; and then learn how to curate a set of lifestyle habits and beliefs that make us feel good and lead to our true weight.

When we allow ourselves the space and time in the container of 6 months to really explore our own body and mind, listen to and learn from her - which foods make her feel energized, and which foods don't; how much sleep she needs; what she likes to do to relax; and really tune into what brings her joy - we will be done with dieting forever.

The time is going to pass regardless. Wouldn't you rather spend that time learning how to never go on a diet ever again? Learn how to create a healthy relationship with food and your body, and never stress out about your weight again?

This is Your Opportunity to Put Yourself on your List

As women, we are always doing for others. Of course, we wouldn’t have it any other way. But when we continually put others first, we neglect our own needs.

That neglect often shows up in our appearance:

  • Not eating the right foods to help us sleep well
  • Overeating or eating alone because we just need some relief
  • Not exercising because who has time?!?
  • Not getting enough sleep, or quality sleep
  • Just feeling blah when we in the mirror

You can’t keep going like this.

They say that we need to put on our own oxygen mask first so that we can help others. So if we want to keep serving those who we love, we need to start practicing self care.

But not so that it’s another item on your to do list.

Practice self care because you are worth taking care of.

Because you are SO worth it.

What My Clients Say

My husband + friends think I have a more peaceful + calm demeanor, especially in the face of stress. They are often inspired to think about and improve their own situations based on what I share from our sessions.

This experience has been life-changing! I'm the happiest I've ever been in my own skin, my relationships with others have all improved significantly, and I have a much healthier perspective on life in general. Simply put, working with you has been one of the best decisions I've ever made in life.

It doesn't matter which topic comes up during a coaching session, Elizabeth is prepared to thoughtfully discuss it and provide additional resources on the subject.

I love how the supporting materials confirm and enhance her instruction. I am very impressed with the professional manner in which Elizabeth approaches her coaching position.

She is warm, kind, and easy to talk to while maintaining a healthy coach/client relationship. She honors her profession and her clients. Not knowing what to expect from online coaching, I have been pleasantly surprised with the personal attention that Elizabeth has provided. Quick turn around with email and texts is the norm.

I truly could not be happier with the choice I made when selecting Elizabeth as my Life Coach!

Elizabeth taught me so much about how to love myself while being where I am today. Accepting yourself, but have that end goal in mind.

It was more than “eat this and eat that and you’ll lose weight “

Unfortunately as women- it isn’t the same for everyone. Elizabeth taught me that something as simple as peanut butter is a good snack for some and maybe not the ‘best’ choice for others.

It’s about how the food made you feel- did it give you energy? Does it make you feel sluggish?

Alright- enough specifics. Elizabeth was amazing! If you’re debating, just go for it. You won’t regret it.

Frequent Asked Questions

What happens if I have to cancel an appointment?

Occasionally we have to miss appointments. Ideally, you will have advanced notice - like if you’re sick or if you are going on vacation.

We can cancel or reschedule your appointment if it’s before the 12 hour cancellation window. Cancelled appointments will become “banked” for you to use at a later date. Appointments within the 12 hour window I will do my best to reschedule within the next 7 days, however there are no guarantees that I will be able to do this.

What happens if I’m late to an appointment?

That is your time & you can use it as you desire. That being said, all appointments must finish at the scheduled time.

What does the homework look like?

Between appointments you will be given optional homework. The homework may be in the form of journaling, completing a worksheet, video or podcast to listen to, or performing a skill or habit. The homework assignments are designed to bring you closer to your goal. However, they are optional andare not required. You are an adult and get to make your own decisions.

Is this a diet?

No. This is not a diet. There are skills and habits that no one has ever taught you that will help you to get to your goal. Things like: learning how to decipher the signals that your body sends you; understanding the difference between physical hunger and emotional hunger; making decisions about what you want to eat and do from a place of self-love versus following the rules.

Because the rules don’t work anymore. The rules were based on research of college aged men. We are not college aged men. In fact our bodies are very different than college aged men.

Do we follow a certain set of prescribed habits?

Every client journey is totally different because every client is different. We each come to the coaching relationship with different skills and strengths, experiences and desires. NOt to mention that our bodies are totally different in our nutritional needs, exercise and sleep needs.

As a result, the steps we’ll take a stepped, customized approach to your success.

Yes, I have a pool of habits and skills to pull from; things like drinking more water and drinking less soda or alcohol, creating a bed-time and/or morning routine, learning the skill of listening to your body, or discipline.

But you may not need to address certain topics, or you may need to spend more time focusing on building a skill. I meet you where you’re at.

What's different between the Popular and VIP Plans?

Both plans offer exceptional coaching and customer service. The VIP Plan is for folks who believe that they need more attention, with more frequent check-ins, and access.

It's Your Time!

If you are done with dieting and want to create a healthy relationship with food and your body, there isn't a better way.

Second guessing yourself and the subsequent negative self-talk is a thing of the past. All you need to do is say yes.

Personal coaching provides a safe space, because we move at your pace, to explore what's been holding you back, learn sustainable habits and mindset principles that you can’t just forget - because it will change how you think about not only food, but … everything else in your life too!
