Judith: [00:00:00] I don't know where that terminology was first used, but I picked it up from that book, dark Knight of the Soul. you know. I guess the easiest way to describe it is when you feel so completely emptied out and bereft. Of everything. Bereft of love, bereft of self love, bereft of compassion, bereft of hope, bereft of joy, happiness.
When you're so emptied out and you stay in that space for a while, that's truly a dark night of the soul experience, and you can have more than one of them in your lifetime. God help you if you do. But it's usually one significant point in your life and it's, it's an opportunity for you to make a choice of whether you're going to stay there and play the blame game and turn into that hateful, spiteful bitch, Or if you're going to embrace healing [00:01:00] and look at, how did I get here?
Elizabeth: welcome to the total Health and Midlife Podcast, the podcast for women over 40 who want peace with food, ease in their habits, and a body that they don't have to fight with.
Hey everyone. Welcome to the Total Health and Midlife Podcast. I am your host, Elizabeth Sherman, and today's episode is for any woman who's ever looked around her life and thought, how did I get here? And why does it feel like I've lost myself along the way? Now you might be successful on paper, a good partner caring mom.
Maybe you've even done everything quote unquote right, and yet there's still this quiet ache. Like something deep inside of you is searching for something more. In today's conversation with my guest, Judith Richie, we are talking about what happens when saying yes to everyone else finally becomes too heavy of a burden to carry.
We talk about [00:02:00] the slow unraveling that can happen when we are misaligned with what we really want and how Judith rebuilt her life from a full on crash and burn, not just on the outside, but in her nervous system, in her relationships, and in her soul.
So this isn't just a story, this is a lesson, if you've been feeling burnt out, invisible or like you're just going through the motions like some of us do in midlife, this episode is your permission slip to pause and ask What is it that I want? And so this episode is personal, it's vulnerable, it's wise, and if you're in that messy middle space of midlife where the rules no longer work, Judith and I want you to know.
If there's nothing wrong with you, you are just being invited into something a little bit deeper, so let's get to it.
Alright everyone, welcome Judith Richey to the Total Health and Midlife Podcast. Judith, I am so [00:03:00] excited about our time that we get to spend together. Judith and I have met through a networking group and we have become fast friends, so I know that you are going to love our time together with Judith.
And so thank you for being here today. Tell everyone. Who you are, what you do, how you help them, and everything that they need to know about how amazing you are.
Judith: Oh wow. Thank you. first I just wanna say thank you for the honor of being here with you. I am so grateful for this time to spend with you because you're amazing.
And I know that the women who. are a part of this podcast are amazing too, so I'm very excited to get to be here and share. So I'm Judith Richey, and my tagline is that I am a force for transformation and that is something that I had to grow and step into over time. And I realized that what I've gone through in my life is probably similar to what other women have gone through in their lives.
The differences [00:04:00] that I have been able to find healing and growth, soul alignment, peace, and create a life that I absolutely love getting up to every single day. So, what I do is I take the trainings, the professional trainings, the work that I've done, the certifications that I have, and I've rolled them into, different programs that help women.
Move past that yucky, crappy stuff that happens in our life, particularly around that 45 to 55 stage of life, and really embrace who they are and bring their full, authentic selves to the world.
Elizabeth: Amazing. And so how did you get into this? I know that you have a really interesting personal story.
Judith: So I got into this because I was at. My rock bottom in life and, so I, was working as a financial advisor with a major brokerage [00:05:00] company here in the United States making Wow, wow. Kind of money. Really, really good money winning trips all over the world, winning all the company awards, you know, the whole thing.
And I was in a second marriage. My husband was the one who encouraged me to go into this career and I was kinda like his plan A for his life because he had been working with these financial advisors in a different capacity for many years, and he knew the income potential and he knew the lifestyle that was available.
What he didn't know was that that was not for me. Although I was very good at it, it was not my soul's calling. And so because I was misaligned and not in the space that I'm designed for, it just caused a total crash and burn in my life. in the old days, they would've called it a midlife crisis. in the old, old days, I would've.
Probably been medicated for hysteria, you know? But I've learned the term that [00:06:00] really describes what I went through, and it's called the Dark Night of the Soul Experience. And I really did experience that. And during that time, I call it an adult time out. I spent about six months just doing some self-directed healing, just me and God.
I have a really different concept of God than most people, so I'm gonna use that term loosely. My real term for God is divine love, just really did that self-directed healing, and what I discovered is that I had never healed from the effects of my first marriage breaking up. And I had been the type of person in my life that I wouldn't term a people pleaser, but what I would call is someone who said yes to what everybody else wanted for her.
And I remember that as far back as being a little girl. the most significant instance of that is when I graduated college and I realized I did not wanna be a teacher in the public school [00:07:00] system. And I came home and I told my mom. I don't wanna teach. I wanna go into some type of service work. And she goes, well, we just paid for you to go to college for five years, and so I want you to teach for a year.
And then if after that, we'll sit down and reevaluate it. And that was the year that I met my first husband and got married and all of that stuff. So I had set up. This pattern of saying yes to what everybody else wanted? yes. My parents wanted me to go to college and get a teaching degree, and then yes, I got married and then yes, the next thing was have kids.
And then yes, was following my husband for his career and. Then yes, was moving to, you know, in a move that I didn't want and then going through this divorce I didn't want, and then I just kept repeating the pattern. when I met my second husband, I just kept saying yes to everything.
until I had had enough of saying yes to everybody else and I had to figure out what saying yes to me looked like, and that took. A [00:08:00] tremendous amount of introspection and a tremendous amount of healing. And what was really interesting is that when I left my career, as a financial advisor, my nervous system was just.
On the fritz. I mean, you talk about frayed, it was beyond frayed. And so I had physical issues. I had nervous system regulation issues. I had chronic insomnia, chronic migraines. I hurt all the time. My mental and emotional states were extremely fragile. It was everything I could do just to get through a day, because I was in this.
Desperate state of needing healing. And from that time that I spent those six months and this realization that it wasn't just one or two events, it had been a lifetime of events, I was able to start finally cobbling together different healing. Modalities for [00:09:00] myself. And that was not easy, because when this was happening back in 2008, 2009, the personal development world wasn't anywhere like what it is today.
Right? And, and I had all of these, Neoconservatives trying to tell me what a bad wife I had been, what a whore I was, how I wasn't pleasing God, you know, and that I needed to be a trad wife and all of these things, and that wasn't where, where I was at. So a lot of the advice I was getting was not aligned for me.
So I had to continue to keep looking and find. Where I felt most aligned with what my soul was calling for. So that's how I got into this because I realized I wasn't alone. And in talking with other women, I realized that many, many women go through similar experiences, different scenarios, and they don't have a safe place to come to embrace that healing and [00:10:00] to find.
That next step in their journey for themselves. So that's why I've started doing what I do.
Elizabeth: Yeah. Wow. So I was making notes while you were talking. I know it was a lot. I'm sorry. No, no, no. I think it's great. And you know where I wanna start is like, I think it's so interesting that you make the distinction between, I wasn't a people pleaser yet.
I still struggled with saying no, I was a yes person, because I think that that's a really interesting distinction that I've never heard anyone else talk about before, but I think it's something that so many women, find themselves in that, and that's how we lose ourselves when we don't. Advocate for ourselves and what we want because we don't feel like what we want is available to us or we're not allowed to say no, or whatever it [00:11:00] is.
And so I, I think it's really interesting and I think it's also very relatable that many women constantly say yes to other people. Even if they don't recognize people pleasing as equality.
Judith: Yes, I agree with you. the other thing is that. It, it crosses over just a little bit into the healthy boundary conversation.
and we're not taught that it's okay to say no. You know, we're as young children, as young girls. We are, our society teaches us we have to be compliant. We have to agree, we have to be agreeable, we have to be nice. We don't talk to young girls about being kind. We talk to them about being nice, right?
Yeah. So I can, I can see mothers going, being nice, you know, instead of be kind and there, that comes from a different place. So [00:12:00] there's this whole messaging. We do in our families and in our society and in our religious cultures of how girls are supposed to show up, right? That we don't teach to boys, and then we carry that into adulthood and we stay in those same unhealthy patterns.
Elizabeth: Mm-hmm. Well, and I love that you're making that distinction also between kind and nice, because. You're right, like being kind is not the same thing as being nice. Sometimes the kind thing is not the pleasant thing. Correct. Like telling someone no is maybe the kind thing for yourself and for them, but that's not necessarily the nice thing, which the nice thing is what they want to hear, right?
Judith: I had to tell someone yesterday that I was disappointed in them and that I was unhappy with, them taking so long to give me an [00:13:00] answer on something when I've been asking for an answer for six weeks, and I had to tell them. I was shocked that it took 'em so long that I wish I would've had this answer earlier, and that I was disappointed in that.
Now I had to do my own work around this, right? Because I was having my own emotions and I went back to training I loved on Miguel Ruiz and the four Agreements. And one of the agreements is don't take anything personally, right? Yeah. You know? So after I had my little moment of upset, I went. This isn't about me, this is about that person.
And then I entered into a state of compassion for them. So I wasn't nice in traditional terms because I said, I'm disappointed in you. This is a shock, and I wish you would have let me know earlier. Some people may not have considered that to be nice to say, but I was kind and compassionate in the energy that I sent, and I was also kind to myself in understanding this [00:14:00] wasn't about me.
You know, so I, we have opportunities. I try to avoid using words like should and have to, and what we have opportunities every day to step into the doing those things first for ourselves and then to send that out into the world as we embrace that for ourselves, our
Elizabeth: Yeah, I
Judith: love that. I love that.
Elizabeth: So, tell me more also about your term, dark Night of the Soul.
That I'm, and I'm wondering only because there might be someone listening right now who might be in that phase. Is it a phase or is it a turning point? where Yeah, both. Like how can you define that and help them see what's happening?
Judith: So that is not my terminology. That's a terminology I used. There is a fantastic book called Women Who Run With the Wolves, and I don't know if you've ever read it.
It's, it's a massive [00:15:00] tome. And what it is, is it's actually like fairytales that describe different women personalities and the way women handle different things. And there's a commentary and an explanation of every story. And so like these are. Or, historical fairytales about women. Okay. And then it explains why the woman behaved, what, how she did, what the results of it were, what her transformation or not was.
And I don't know where that terminology was first used, but I picked it up from that book, dark Knight of the Soul. you know. I guess the easiest way to describe it is when you feel so completely emptied out and bereft. Of everything. Bereft of love, bereft of self love, bereft of compassion, bereft of hope, bereft of joy, happiness.
When you're so emptied out and you stay in [00:16:00] that space for a while, that's truly a dark night of the soul experience, and you can have more than one of them in your lifetime. God help you if you do. But it's usually one significant point in your life and it's, it's an opportunity for you to make a choice of whether you're going to stay there and play the blame game and turn into that hateful, spiteful bitch.
Or if you're going to embrace healing and look at, how did I get here? What are the patterns? What are the family patterns, societal patterns? What is my ancestral. What are my ancestral patterns and maybe even what did I bring forward from past life stuff that I have an opportunity to heal here. So you can kind of go either way.
and some women go through a dark night of the soul experience and it hardens them. And some women it goes through and they go through that and it, it absolutely gives 'em an [00:17:00] opportunity for transformation.
Elizabeth: Yeah. And so I'm assuming that then. What you do with your clients is you help them through that healing piece.
Judith: Yes, that's exactly what I do. Yes.
Elizabeth: Awesome. So
Judith: tell us about that. So I started out doing something called a motion code. Dr. Bradley Nelson is a, chiropractor who discovered this intuitively, because he would have patients come into him who had physical manifestations. What he realized is that there were emotional underpinnings of what was going on physically.
And so he was given a divine download of how to help them clear the energy that was underneath the physical manifestations. So, I had been working as a mindset coach for an international organization and I was also doing some business coaching with a, companion company and, one of the other coaches.
And I got to be really good friends. [00:18:00] And she had a daughter who went through some extreme trauma and I'm just gonna leave it at that. And they looked for a therapist to be able to help this little girl. And, they couldn't find anybody and she was in really bad shape. And they finally found, I mean, they went to the priest and they went to the school counselors and they went to therapist and they went to all different kinds of people that could help her.
Nothing was working to help this little girl. And they finally found a therapist who was, certified, something called Healing from the Body Level Up. And so my friend called me every month for like nine months and she's like, Judith, you're gonna go get certified in this, Judith. You gotta go get certified in this.
So finally the opportunity came for me to fly to Boston for a week. It was interesting, because it was right at the beginning of the noise about COVID. It was right at the beginning of 2019. We really didn't even know what COVID was at the point. And I was the only non-licensed medical person in the room of the training.
I was the only non therapist and non MD or, naturopath in the [00:19:00] room. I had gone through an interview process, and this was life changing work for me and. What I bring to my clients, there's six levels plus postgraduate work. I've done all of it, so I'm master certified in this and it is a beautiful structured program that takes you through.
Basic energy, clearing energy work, and then it weaves in, work around your Enneagram type. and what most people use Enneagram for is just to figure out, you know, kinda like Myers-Briggs or disc, oh, I'm a this, I'm a that. But what's really fascinating is that connected with your Enneagram type, there are wounds that you carry at the soul level.
That affect how you see yourself, how you view yourself, and how you show up in the world. And so we do a lot of work around that, clearing those wounds. There's over 400 wounds that have been mapped, and so that work is just phenomenal. We use, neurolinguistic programming in it. I dunno if you're familiar with NLP.
So [00:20:00] we use NLP processes in it, and then some other healing modalities are woven into it too. So this whole comprehensive program, that's my, the core of what I do with people. it's really fascinating work because I teach all of my clients to access their soul's deepest wisdom through something called muscle testing.
And it gives you a way. To get answers that bypass your conscious mind, which is where we spend about three to 5% of our time every day. It bypasses your subconscious mind, whose sole job is to keep you from heal, feeling heart and pain, so that 95 to 97% of the day as we're going. You are not accessing things that can benefit you in your healing process.
So by using muscle testing and getting to the soul level, we're able to get answers and find direction that normal traditional therapies don't use. Wow. Okay. [00:21:00]
Elizabeth: And so I dunno how to answer that.
I will take this out.
Judith: No, it's fine. I think it's cute. Leave it in. It's a lot and it's different.
Elizabeth: Yeah. , Okay, so what are some of the things that people would come to you with and how do you help them? Like, talk about a little bit about transformation.
Judith: Okay, so transformation is another one of those buzzwords that's used a lot, right?
Mm-hmm. I'm a force for transformation because that was a divine download that was supposed to be what I called myself. Okay? So I go with it. people come to me for a variety of reasons. They're stuck in their life. they come to me because they've got tremendous grief. That they're dealing with, that they're not able to move through.
I actually work with, men and women. my preference is to work with women, but I work with men and women. I've done things like, I've got a couple I'm working with who are navigating some things. Solely and together in their [00:22:00] relationship, I've worked with employees, and employers to help them be able to learn how to communicate with themselves first and then with each other.
And I think, Elizabeth, it goes back to what I was talking about earlier about how when we're not aligned. With our souls calling when we're saying yes to what everybody else wants for us, we show up in the world so disconnected, and that causes a ripple effect of issues for us, right? We're not in the career that brings us joy.
we can't sustain meaningful or healthy relationships. we have family issues with siblings or with parents. we're not able to keep a career. It just shows up in all different kinds of ways. And really the underpinning of it all is that we're carrying these wounds at the soul level that are preventing us from creating this amazing life that we're here to have.
Elizabeth: Okay. You just said something there that really kind [00:23:00] of makes sense to me, and that is that what you're doing is you're helping people to connect with themselves.
Judith: Yes.
Elizabeth: In a way that. Maybe is bypassing what we normally use for therapy or other modalities. Right.
Judith: That's a hundred percent right. Okay. And unless therapy has a place.
Right. Because a lot of times it's the springboard to the work that I do. I even work with therapist as my personal clients, okay? Mm-hmm. But therapy is a great. I have kind of what I've developed, a three step process, awareness, breakthrough, and transformation Therapy is a good place to go find awareness.
Okay, breakthrough is where you have those aha light bulb moments. Most people stop there because they think, oh, now I have the answer of why this happened. I'm good to go. What they don't realize is the transformation stage is the [00:24:00] completion of the process. That's where the actual healing comes in. And how do we heal?
We use various energy techniques, I use through the healing from the body level up. Plus I have a very deep toolbox of other modalities that I'm certified in. And, I just, you know, put all that together to help them guide the process of what their soul is asking for in the healing.
Elizabeth: Yeah. Now tell us about, one of the offers that you have is something that you call circles, which I have not participated in, but I want to, and I think that they sound just so fascinating.
Tell us all about that.
Judith: I was, so set this up. You gotta know a little bit more about me. I am highly intuitive. other people use other words for it that I choose to not use, because it denotes something that I don't ascribe to. But I'm highly intuitive and so I hear things and I see things and I feel things and I know things, and so I listen to the information that flows in [00:25:00] all the time.
I was scrolling through. Instagram and I saw an ad and I thumbed past it and I heard, stop. Go back, go read that. So I went back and read the ad and it was from a woman named Lynn McTaggart about her book called The Power of Eight. And what Lynn McTaggart did as an investigative journalist was went out to prove that manifesting doesn't work.
And so she conducted all these scientific experiments with leading universities around the world where they could do research on whether manifesting worked or not. And of course, what they were able to prove is that manifesting works, that there is an energy to manifesting, and that the collective consciousness contributes to people being able to manifest.
So at the end of her book, she just very cavalierly throws out there, Hey, go do this. And so I went, okay, I'm gonna go do this. And this was in April of 2023. And so I called up 17 people and the first said seven that said yes. I said, well, let's just start this circle. And that turned into what I [00:26:00] now have as a, portion of my business called Intention Manifesting Circles.
And what I do is I take eight women. We meet for 10 weeks and those women have an opportunity in this beautifully safe space. and this is, I, I'm gonna emphasize that because this is one of the pieces of feedback that I get back from everybody. You create a safe space for us, Judith. Nobody else has given us this safe space to come and just say these things out loud to come and explore and share.
What they want at these deep levels, things that they've never said out loud to anyone else. Hmm. And then I create gorgeous meditations for us to focus on that person for through the week. We send them that energy and then they complete the process by taking the aligned action. To manifest these dreams that they have.
And I wanna tell you my most fun story around all this. We had a young woman who was [00:27:00] 26, and she was in the group with what I would call a bunch of her aunties, right? These were all women who were 20 years older than her. And she had just graduated college and she'd never had a boyfriend. And she said, okay, I'm 26.
I've got my degree, I've got a job. I'm ready for a serious romance. All the aunties, they loved it, right? And so they poured into her and we meditated and we manifested for her with her, well, she just got married a couple of weeks ago, and so from that intention manifesting circle and the work that she did and the energy that we sent, she met her fiance.
He was just exactly the right person for her, and she for him, and now they're newlyweds. So those are fun stories, but it's also things like figuring out what you don't want in your life, what you can let go of in order to make room for the things that you are inviting into your life. So it's a fascinating [00:28:00] process and I'm here today doing the work that I'm doing because of.
Speed in this manifesting, space. Yeah,
Elizabeth: yeah. Manifesting like it all sounds very woo woo. It's, but no, I am 100% on board and many of the tools that I teach within my coaching are more sciencey around law of attraction, like. How our thoughts and our energy attract and repel other people and things that we invite into our lives is 100% true.
Like, and one thing that's really interesting recently is that I've been thinking about certain people. And it's really interesting. I've actually gotten texts from those people without actually having to do anything.
Judith: Yes. Because we're all connected. Yeah, we're all connected. it, it's, synchronicities like that, that if you understand that.
The power, the [00:29:00] collective consciousness. there is a part in manifesting that people don't talk about. And I always tell my participants in the circles, you know, you don't put this out there and then go sit on the grassy knoll outside the cave Right? Position Channing, Even though I do do that, but for a different reason and just expect for it to fall down from heaven.
Right. You must take, and I used the term a minute ago, aligned action. Right. And it aligned action is different from taking action. and it goes back to that being aligned at that soul level. Everything I focus on is about finding that alignment at the soul level.
Elizabeth: Yeah. Yeah. So you have a membership that you just, launched as well, right?
Judith: I do. I've been studying memberships for a few years. I've been a member of some memberships and I've kind of looked at what do I love about that, what did I not love about that? And again, this goes back to my own experience when I was in that. Time where I was so desperate for direction [00:30:00] and help, I couldn't find anything.
And the books I was reading and the people I, you know, podcasts were not a big thing back then. But, I know that there is a need for curated content that's put together in an easy defined format that nourishes you, that encourages you, that helps you in that personal healing journey. And. I wanna just take it aside for a second and talk about healing.
We can do a lot of healing ourselves and we also need healers. I myself have a healer I go to when I need healing too, you know, so this is that kind of DIY part of your healing journey. And every month I have a different theme. So this month we've been talking about emotional freedom and, what that looks like, what the definition of that is, how it works.
And because I'm a me a meditator, I always include some type of. Deep meditation. I teach breath work, I do Somatic work in there. Uh, there's journal prompts, there's reflection [00:31:00] opportunities, and then we have monthly community gatherings. And what I love about this is that this is kind of a one stop shop for your personal development in these areas.
And I was so frustrated in my journey because I would read. This person, and I'd listen to that person and I'd see this person on social media and I'd go over here and I'd attend this conference and it was like, who do I listen to and how do I make all this make sense? Right? So what I do is I put it all together and make it make sense and bring it to you with my Judith Magic.
Elizabeth: Yeah, because I was thinking when you were, introducing yourself at the beginning of the, show, and you said. I had to say yes to myself, and I had to do that through a lot of introspection and healing. Like my first question there was like, how do you start that? Like, because there are so many healers out there doing all sorts of different things, and [00:32:00] there's.
Just this vast array of information. And so for someone who this is appealing to, they're like, yeah, I, I feel that there's something wrong. I don't know what it is. I know that I do need to do some self-healing and connection and you know, really figure out some of this stuff that's holding me back. Like, how do I do that?
And so I love that you're guiding people through it in an organized way so that you can actually figure it out yourself. You can.
Judith: And we're all intuitive beings and that has been trained out of us in our world. And when you are able to get still and quiet and start listening. You start tapping into those whispers of your [00:33:00] soul, and that's how you start the healing process.
So the membership gives you opportunities to get still and quiet and start paying attention to what your soul is telling you.
Elizabeth: Amazing. I love that. and that's something brand new for you, right? It
Judith: is brand new. I just launched it in June. I have huge aspirations for this. I'm very excited about where this can go, and I'm gonna just make a very, soft political statement.
I have a big heart for people. you can probably tell, right? we are living in an environment where, many resources are being denied to people in need. And so my, and I'm gonna get emotional. Ooh huh. So my desire with this membership is to grow it so huge, and I've got a number. The number is I want 1600 members and more.
That's gonna be the, the place where I feel like, okay, I'm [00:34:00] here. I've done what I came to do with this, and then grow it even further because the income that that's going to give me is gonna give me the ability to be a philanthropist at a level I would've never dreamed of.
Elizabeth: Yeah. Yeah,
Judith: it's so, it does things on levels that we don't even think about.
It's helping women heal. It's helping the world heal because as these women heal, that heals their family. The family takes it out. That heals the people they come in contact with. The ripple effect is, is, is exponential. And then the income that I'm. Afforded from the membership. You know, like the Houston Food Bank, I think got a 23% cut in their resources.
People like me can help make that up and that's important to me because when I was a divorce mom and five kids, we were poor and they were, it was hard feeding my family. So to be able to [00:35:00] turn around and take those blessings and send them out into the world is super important to me.
Elizabeth: Oh, I
Judith: love
Elizabeth: that. Okay, so switching gears a little bit.
Yep. You have a summit coming up that you wanted to invite everyone into.
Judith: So you know how I said that I hear things Well, a couple of months ago I was meditating and I had thought about a summit a couple of years ago and someone actually said, oh, don't do a summit. There a lot of work. You don't get anything out of it.
Yeah, it is just a pain, blah, blah, blah. And I went, okay. And I kind of put it on the back burner. And then I, like I said, I've been studying memberships for a while. , And so I was meditating and I heard, okay, it's time to start your membership. I went, cool. All right, great. I can just start my membership.
That's good. I'm ready to go on that. And then the next beat I heard, oh, and by the way, you need to do a summit for women entrepreneurs this fall. And I went. Wait, what? I need to do a summit this year at the same time I'm launching a membership. And I was like, yes, you [00:36:00] do. So I, looked at again, all this comes from what I, my journey is,
I looked at the things that I needed and could not find when I started my entrepreneurial journey, or the things that I spent way too much money and time on that did not serve me. And so I am hosting a three day online virtual summit called the Fem Preneur Connection, and it is designed for. A variety of entrepreneurs, but women specifically not for men, because once again, women do business differently than men do.
So if you're a mompreneur, if you're a side hustle preneur, if you're a corporate, dropout who's creating her own. Thing, you know, if you've been in business for, I don't know, zero to five years, and you've kind of tried some things and they didn't work, that kind of person, or maybe you're a seasoned preneur who's doing a pivot or an expansion in their business, [00:37:00] those are my target people, right?
And it could be someone who's in direct marketing, who's got side hustles, you know, that. Compliment their business. It could be a realtor, it could be someone like me who's in the healing world, coaches you, Elizabeth, you know? so those are my target folks. And what I've done is I've assembled 15 different speakers.
We're gonna have speakers over three days. Every day is gonna be a different topic. The first day is the soul of your business. The second day is the. Business of your business, and the third day is the visibility of your business because it all goes back again to that soul alignment. Your messaging has to be, you know, on point.
You need to know who you are, what it is you're offering. That's the soul of your business. Then what about the things like. How do you keep your books? When do you file taxes? What do you do about paying yourself? How do you take care of the money side? So I've got money experts and legal experts coming in that second day to talk about those things.
My personal business attorney and my [00:38:00] personal CPA are gonna be speaking. I'm very excited. We also have, some people who are coming in to talk about automating your business and how, when do you hire a va? And then the third day is all about the visibility of your business because you have to learn how to be a self-promoter.
If you're gonna be an entrepreneur, nobody else is gonna do it for you. My mother used to say when I was a little girl, fool's names like fool's faces always appear in public places. And that was something I really had to work through as an entrepreneur to be able to self-promote because for the longest time I kept hearing only fools do this, only fools do this and that.
I realized that if I don't talk about my message and I don't get what I do out there, nobody's gonna do it for me. So, you know, we are all subject to those messages that we grew up with or that have come at us [00:39:00] that we must overcome to be able to promote the wonderful work that we're doing in the world.
Elizabeth: Well, and like two things. So sorry about the Fool's Voices and. That saying like one is I think that a lot of women in midlife are have that realization that no one's gonna save me except for me. That's right. But also the other piece to that is if you don't speak up, then everyone is prey to the fool.
Right? Like you have the opportunity to
Judith: correct that. That is such a wonderful observation. I wanna take it one step further. We were at a wedding last weekend in Deep East Texas, and there we were sitting at a table with women who were probably, I. 10 to 15 years older than me and we didn't know these people.
We just met them at the wedding. And so we get up and we go to the buffet line, and I started [00:40:00] looking at their body language. And it was fascinating because they literally folded in on themselves. Their shoulders were hunched, their arms were crossed over their stomach, and they stood there, folded in on themselves.
And I thought. How tragic that these women in their mid to late seventies do not have the pride in themselves, the confidence to be able to stand up and present themselves. And so in a way, I'm helping women entrepreneurs do that, find that confidence in themselves and what they're bringing and stand up and present themselves to the world.
Elizabeth: Yeah. I love that. what if someone isn't an entrepreneur, but she is a business woman, or this is interesting to her, but she doesn't necessarily have a business.
Judith: Oh, I would just say, come on anyway. Mm-hmm. Tickets are free. And, so you can, I have two [00:41:00] levels of tickets. I've got free tickets you have to attend live, to be able to see the sessions.
And then I've got VIP tickets where you pay just a nominal fee and you have lifetime access to all the recordings. So it's, you know, if you can make it great, come on free. If you can't buy via P ticket and get the recordings, because what we're gonna speak to is this type of thing. You know, even if you are.
if you're an employee or you're a manager or you're running a family business or something like that, the things we are gonna talk about in terms of that soul alignment and being visible to the world all apply.
Elizabeth: Mm-hmm. and so we haven't talked about the date. So this podcast is going to be released on September 9th, and if I remember correctly, the.
Summit is the 18th through the 20th, is that right? You have a great memory.
Judith: That's exactly what it is. So tickets will be available all the way up, right? Until the very end,
Elizabeth: yeah. Okay. Terrific. So what else do people need to know about you and everything that you have to offer? [00:42:00] 'cause I think it's still delightful.
Judith: I do life changing work. One person at a time. And now I'm expanding that I'm not pivoting. I'm in a place of expansion to take that life changing work out into my membership so that more people's lives can be changed. And you know, I listen to the calls that intuition brings to me from divine love to be able to take this type of workout into the world.
And, you know, it's, It's not just something we want to keep to ourselves because the work that we do will change the world one person at a time, and that's how we're going to affect lasting change in this world.
Elizabeth: Amazing. So if people want to work with you or follow you or are interested, how do they do that?
Judith: The easiest way to do that is to go to my website, which is simply my name, judith Richey.com. All my socials are on there and links to the summit tickets [00:43:00] and links to the membership are there. It's Richey with no T, so R-I-C-H-E-Y. and you can find me on Instagram, on Facebook on now I'm on TikTok.
Elizabeth: Are you really?
I am.
Judith: thanks to a very good virtual assistant. I am now on TikTok and LinkedIn. I have a little bit of presence over there. Not a whole lot, but yeah. so, and I have a YouTube channel and, that will become more, populated as I go. But I've posted some really nice meditations over there. One of the things I like to do is.
You know, when we bombed around, I felt very heavy and a lot of people felt very heavy and I felt led to, create a, meditation specifically during that time period. So those are the kinds of things that are up on my YouTube channel right now.
Elizabeth: Amazing. Well, thank you for sharing everything with us.
Um, oh,
Judith: Elizabeth, what a joy to be able to spend time with you and your wonderful questions, a great interview, and being able to bring this to your audience. I just have so much gratitude for that. Thank you. [00:44:00]
