Why Health Coaching? What is it going to do for me?

Research has shown that exercise alone, without a nutritional program produces sub-par results when it comes to body recomposition change (i.e.: fat loss or muscle gain). Health Coaching allows me to help you achieve your goals by focusing on nutritional and lifestyle habits that, might be hindering your progress. There is so much confusing information out there. You have one friend who swears by the vegan diet, have another who is now paleo, but yet your doctor suggests the Mediterranean diets. Which one is right for you?

What is Health Coaching? How is it different than Personal Training?

Health Coaching is different for each client. It is a series of meetings; anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour in duration. Although the client sets the outcome goals (I want to lose 10 lbs of fat, or I want to gain 5 lbs of muscle), I will help you set your behavior goals (I will walk 15 minutes each day this week) that ultimately get you to achieve your goals. Its different than Personal Training because its not only about exercise. We will also cover stress, sleep, movement, and lifestyle habits.

But don’t worry. This isn’t a “I’m the expert, I’ll tell you what to do” program. YOU are the expert in your life and your body. YOU are the only one who can say what works & what doesn’t. We work together to determine the path that you will take.

 What does a meeting look like?

We will focus on eliminating any barriers and obstacles. There will also be some education on how the food we eat effects our body – and not just in a caloric way. Food also effects our hormones. Our hormones communicate information to our brain and body. Things like: Am I hungry? Am I full? I’m stressed! or I’m Tired. And all of those messages effect the way we feel, and the choices we make. Here’s an example: Ever been super tired, but not hungry, yet found yourself eating something that you don’t even like? Me too. Wouldn’t you like to know how to avoid those things?

Who Is Health Coaching Designed for?

There are a few folks who will thrive in the Health Coaching program. The biggest factor of success is someone who is motivated to want to get results, or change their behavior. And, I understand that change is uncomfortable & difficult, but through the process of making small, incremental changes, you will see the results.

  1. If you’re currently doing Personal Training, but not seeing the results that you would like. Health Coaching is a perfect complement to Personal Training.
  2. If you want to phase out of Personal Training, and do it on your own.
  3. If you identify with the statement, “I know what to do, I’m just not doing it”

* This is NOT a program that you can enroll a loved one into. If a person doesn’t want to change, no matter who is helping them & what they’re doing, they are not going to change. Therefore, folks can only enroll themselves in this program.
